How to Store WIF on Ledger Live

It is worth noting that WIF (Wrapped Internet Future) is not a native token on Ledger Live. Nevertheless, WIF can still be stored on Ledger Live using your preferred Ledger device, a third-party wallet and Ethereum network.

Please download the last update of Ledger Live Application:

1. Ledger Live for Windows 10/11

2. Ledger Live for MAC

3. Ledger Live for Android

The guide below sheds more light on the process:

Step #1: Set Up Your Preferred Ledger Device

  • Make sure your Ledger hardware wallet is fully up-to-date with a PIN code created and your recovery phrase stored offline.
  • Make sure your Ledger hardware wallet is both connected to a mobile device or computer and PIN unlocked during the setup process.

Step #2: Install Ethereum App

  • Open Ledger Live then navigate to the Manager tab.
  • Search for and find the Ethereum app under the app Catalog subsection.
  • Click or tap on the Install button next to the Ethereum app to begin the installation of the app on your preferred Ledger device.

Step #3: Connect Third-party Wallet

  • Make use of a compatible and reliable third-party wallet such as MetaMask.
  • Connect this third-party wallet to your preferred Ledger device (Stax, Nano S, or Nano X).

Step #4: Add WIF Token

  • While in the MetaMask wallet or any other compatible third-party wallet, add WIF by making use of the token’s contract address.

Step #5: Send WIF to Ledger

  • Proceed to transfer your WIF tokens to the Ethereum address that is managed by your Ledger via MetaMask. By doing this, your WIF tokens will be securely and safely stored through your preferred Ledger hardware wallet.
