How to Store SHIB on Ledger Live

SHIB is an ERC-20 token that is operational on the Ethereum blockchain. 

You can store Shiba Inu (SHIB) on your Ledger Live account using a Ledger device. The seven (7) steps below explain in more detail.

Step #1: Download and Install the Ledger Live App 

  • To download Ledger Live, simply visit Ledger’s official website. Install the apl on either your mobile device or personal computer. 
  • To set up the app on your mobile device or personal computer, carefully follow the on-screen prompts after installation.

Step #2: Set Up Your Preferred Ledger Device

  • Start by connecting your preferred Ledger device (Stax, Nano S or Nano X) to your mobile phone or personal computer using Bluetooth or a standard USB cable. 
  • You can unlock your preferred Ledger device with your Personal Identity Number (PIN).

Step #3: Have the Ethereum App Installed on Your Preferred Ledger Device

  • Launch Ledger Live and navigate to the Manager tab.
  • Under this tab, search for and find the Ethereum app in the app catalog section.
  • Click and tap on the Install button that can be seen beside the Ethereum app.
  • Confirm that the Ethereum app has been installed on your respective Ledger device.

Step #4: Add Ethereum Account

  • Launch Ledger Live then scroll to the Accounts tab.
  • Click or tap Add Account.
  • From the drop-down menu displaying a host of supported cryptocurrencies choose Ethereum. 
  • When prompted, launch the Ethereum app on your preferred Ledger device. 
  • Your Ethereum account is created when Ledger Live automatically synchronizes with the Ethereum blockchain. 
  • Click or tap Add Account as soon as your Ethereum account has been created.

Step #5: Proceed to Receive SHIB Crypto

  • Launch Ledger Live and navigate to your newly added Ethereum account.
  • Click or tap on the Receive button. 
  • Launch the Ethereum app directly on your preferred Ledger device. 
  • Scan the QR code or copy out the Ethereum wallet address displayed in the Ledger Live app. 
  • You can make use of the Ethereum wallet address to send SHIB cryptos from a wallet or an exchange to your added Ledger Ethereum account.

Step #6: Acces SHIB Cryptocurrencies in Ledger Live 

  • After the confirmation of the transaction, the SHIB cryptos will show up in your added Ethereum account. 
  • Where SHIB cryptos are not visible, you can click or tap on your Ethereum account then click or tap on Add Token or Manage Tokens to search for and find SHIB in order to enable the token on your Ethereum account in Ledger Live.  

Step #7: Keep Your Ledger Device Safe and Secure

  • Once you are through using your Ledger device, disconnect it from your mobile device or personal computer. 
  • Always keep your recovery phrase in a secure and safe place. 
  • Never share or disclose your recovery phrase to anyone.
  • Now your SHIB cryptos should be securely and safely stored in Ledger Live and protected by the Ledger device of your choice.
