How to Store HYPE on Ledger Live

It is worth noting that at this point in time HYPE (Hyperbolic Protocol) is not listed as one of the supported cryptocurrencies on Ledger Live. Nevertheless, you will still be able to store HYPE tokens on your preferred Ledger device provided it is either a BEP-20 or ERC-20 token. All you need to do is to make use of a compatible and reliable third-party wallet like MyEtherWallet or MetaMask.

Step #1: Start by Setting Up Your Preferred Ledger Device

  • First off, initialize your preferred Ledger device with your recovery phrase and PIN if you have not done this already.

Step #2: Download and Install the Ledger Live App 

  • After downloading the app, follow the installation prompts to successfully install the Ledger Live app on your personal computer or mobile device.

Step #3: Install Ethereum App (in the event that HYPE is an ERC-20 Token)

  • Start by launching the Ledger Live app and scrolling to the Manager tab.
  • Connect your preferred Ledger device (Stax, Nano X or Nano S) to your mobile device or computer using a USB cable or Bluetooth (for Nano X) then unlock the device with your PIN.
  • Scroll to app Catalog to search for and find Ethereum app.
  • Click or tap the Install button next to the app. 

Step #4: Have a Third-Party Wallet like MyEtherWallet or MetaMask Connected to Your Ledger Device

  • First off, set up MyEtherWallet or MetaMask.
  • Next, connect your preferred Ledger device to MyEtherWallet or MetaMask third-party wallet. 
  • Adhere to the on-screen prompts on how to both authorize and access your Ledger account through the third-party wallet(s).

Step #5: How to Add HYPE Tokens to Your Wallet

  • First off, find the HYPE token contract address. You can find this address on BscScan for BEP-20 HYPE tokens or Etherscan for ERC-20 HYPE tokens).
  • Copy the contract address and then paste it in the Add Token section of your wallet. 

Step #6: Send HYPE Tokens to Your Ledger Wallet

  • From MyEtherWallet or MetaMask – copy out your Ledger wallet address.
  • You can now send HYPE tokens directly from a different wallet or exchange tonyour Ledger wallet address. 

Step #7: Ratify Your HYPE Tokens

  • After confirming the transaction, you will be able to access your HYPE tokens on the user-interface of the connected third-party wallet (i.e. MyEtherWallet or MetaMask).
  • Your HYPE tokens are now securely and safely stored on your preferred Ledger device.
