How to Store BCH on Ledger Live

The guide below shows the steps you should take when trying to store  BCH (Bitcoin Cash) on Ledger Live using your Ledger device. 

Please download the last update of Ledger Live Application:

1. Ledger Live for Windows 10/11

2. Ledger Live for MAC

3. Ledger Live for Android

Step #1: Download and Install the Ledger Live App 

  • Go to the official Ledger website to download the latest version of the Ledger Live app. 
  • Follow all on-screen prompts to set up the Ledger Live app.

Step #2: Proceed to Set Up Your Preferred Ledger Device 

  • You should use Bluetooth or USB cable to connect your preferred Ledger device – Stax, Nano S, or Nano X to your mobile device or computer respectively.

  • Use your secure PIN code to unlock the Ledger device.

Step #3: Instal Bitcoin Cash App

  • Next, launch Ledger Live then navigate to the Manager tab section.
  • Under app Catalog, search for and find the Bitcoin Cash app.
  • Click or tap on the Install button beside the Bitcoin Cash app.
  • Check your preferred Ledger device to confirm the installation of the Bitcoin Cash app.

Step #4: Add Bitcoin Cash Account

  • Launch Ledger Live and scroll to the Accounts tab section.
  • Click or tap on Add Account. 
  • From the drop-down menu showing supported tokens, choose BCH (Bitcoin Cash).
  • When prompted, launch the Bitcoin Cash app on your preferred Ledger device.
  • Your BCH account will be created as soon as Ledger Live is synchronized with the blockchain.  
  • Provide a name for the BCH account then click or tap on Add Account to complete the process.

Step #5: Proceed to Receive BCH Cryptos

  • Launch Ledger Live and click or tap on your newly added Bitcoin Cash account. 
  • Click or tap on the Receive button then connect your respective Ledger device.
  • Launch the Bitcoin Cash app on your preferred Ledger device. 
  • Scan the QR code or copy out the wallet address shown in the Ledger Live app.
  • Make use of the wallet address in sending out BCH tokens either from a different wallet or an exchange.

Step #6: Ratify Your BCH Cryptocurrencies 

  • Patiently wait for confirmation of the transaction on the Bitcoin Cash blockchain.
  • Once you have confirmed the transaction, you will be able to see the BCH balance in your BCH account directly on the Ledger Live app. 

Step #7: Keep Your Ledger Device Safe and Secure

  • Always remember to disconnect your Ledger device when you are not using it. 
  • Keep your recovery phrase backup key in a secure and safe place.
  • Do not share or disclose this recovery phrase to anyone.
  • Now your BCH is securely and safely stored in your Ledger Live using your preferred Ledger device.
