If you’re updating your Ledger device and it displays the error “MCU firmware is not genuine” don’t fret, there are ways to fix this issue. This can happen, if there’s an interruption to the Ledger Live connection during an update process, leading your Ledger device to be stuck on the update process.

By just using the device repair tool in Ledger Live, this issue can be fixed
Please download the last update of Ledger Live Application:
1. Ledger Live for Windows 10/11
2. Ledger Live for MAC
3. Ledger Live for Android
Here’s how to do this
- Open the Ledger Live app.
- Go into “Settings” and click on “Help”
- Locate “Repair your Ledger device” and click on it.
- Connect your Ledger device.
- In the repair tool in Ledger Live, select “MCU firmware is not genuine” and click “Repair”. The repair process will start.
- Once it’s complete, your Ledger device will be back to normal.
- You can restart the firmware update again.
