This tutorial describes how to create a Metis (METIS) account in Ledger Live with your Ledger device.

How to add Metis (METIS) token to Ledger Live

Please download the last update of Ledger Live Application:

1. Ledger Live for Windows 10/11

2. Ledger Live for MAC

3. Ledger Live for Android

Before you start

  • Set up Ledger Live with your Ledger device.
  • Update the firmware on your Ledger Nano S, Nano S Plus, or Nano X.
  • Ensure that you have the latest version of the Ethereum (ETH) app installed on your device.

Add a Metis (METIS) account to Ledger Live

  1. In the left sidebar menu, go to Accounts.
  2. Click Add account.

  1. Choose Metis (METIS) from the drop-down list.

  1. Click Continue.
  2. Connect your device to Ledger Live and unlock it. The app will be installed and synchronized on your Ledger device.
  3. Click Add account. 

That’s it, the Metis account is added to your Portfolio and Ledger device.

Receive assets 

You can receive METIS coins and ERC20 tokens on your Metis account, using a Ledger device to verify and approve transactions.

Pro tip: When withdrawing funds from an exchange to your Metis account, be sure to choose the Metis network.

  1. Connect your Ledger device to your computer and unlock it.
  2. Open the Ethereum (ETH) app on your device.
  3. Your Ledger displays: Application is ready
  4. Open Ledger Live and click Receive.
  5. In the drop-down list, select Metis (METIS) and click Continue.
    Your Ledger device displays: Verify address.
  6. Use the right button to scroll through the address. Make sure the address that shows on your device screen is identical to the one in Ledger Live.
  7. If all looks good, press both buttons and then again press both buttons one more time to verify the address.
  8. Copy the address and share it with the sender. Ensure that the address does not change after you copy/paste it.

Send assets

You can send METIS and ERC20 tokens from your Metis account, using a Ledger device to verify and approve transactions.

Pro tip: Send a small amount first and verify that the transaction was received before sending larger amounts. If you’re unsure whether a transaction was successful, check back in a few minutes.

  1. In the left sidebar menu, click Send then select your Metis account.
  2. Enter the recipient address. Double-check the address and click Continue.

  1. Enter the amount you want to send.
  2. Check the transaction summary—Amount and Network fees—and click Continue.
  3. Verify and approve the transaction on your Ledger device—press both buttons simultaneously to Approve. Press both buttons simultaneously to Accept and send the transaction.

The transaction is sent. Your account balance will be updated when the blockchain confirms the transaction.
